Tanned and Back!

I am back! This is by far the longest trip my boyfriend and I have ever taken and we have such a fabulous time in the past nine days but on the other hand, I also missed all of you and my blog very much especially when I have little to no internet access which was a little frustrating. Within the eight days, we been to San Diego, Coronado Island, Anaheim, Los Angeles, Hacienda Heights, Santa Monica and Desert Hills. Yup, we made good use of our time! Since I am still on my holiday mood and I am sure pictures are more tempting than my writings. I figure I will share with you some of my trip photos :)

 Starting from left corner picture:
1. You ask why a boring picture of me and the car - well, this is our first rental car! Love the car but not the rental company AVIS though cause the sales cheated and charged us for the road service assistant of $5.99/day even when we decline the offer :(

2. We spend our first day at the Coronado Island in San Diego and we absolutely fallen in love with the beach there!

By the beach, we found a gorgeous sand castle! It even have a little bridges on it

Parking in Coronado Island is so CHEAP, a quarter for an hour by the beach area, DEAL!

3, 5 We spent our second day at the Seaworld! Yes, I still have child's heart! Out of all the shows, I love the Shamu show and the dolphin show the most!

This is what happen when I am all hyped up!
 4. You ask why post the pink/red fishie: because out of the pool of the little fishes, I love her (judging by its colour) the most

On our third day, we went to the San Diego Safari Park and we got the Caravan safari package where we get to see the animals up close and feed giraffes and rhinos!

While I was laughing at other ladies why would anyone scared of feeding the giraffes, this is how I look when it's my turn to feed them...

Up close touching the cute rhinos!
We then spent two days at Disneyland. To me, Disneyland will always be a place where dreams come true, thanks to Walt Disney!

On Day 6, we left Anaheim and head straight to Universal Studio and the first place we went to is the Hollywood Tower. See below:

Totally freaked out when the elevator suddenly dropped at a high speed

Vin Diesel is so HOT!
We spent our second last day at Santa Monica and did some shopping and enjoy the sunshine!

Our butt prints! Look at how much bigger my boyfriend's butt is than mine, gay guys love him for this! He even got a free coffee once LOL!
We spent our last day visiting my sister at Hsi Lai Temple. I haven't seen her for a few years and she is still a happy lady who always give me valuable advice. I miss her even more after I visit her as even I am not sure when is the next time I get to see her. We then shop at the Desert Hills Premium Outlet.

Our trip sounds already very exciting right? My boyfriend agrees not and decided to add more excitement to our trip by parking our car overnight yester-night in LA downtown area. Guess what, our car got towed right when we are rushing for our flight! In the end we still got back on time but what a creative way to end our trip!

Aside from sharing my trip photos with all of you, I also want to share my makeup haul with you so heads up for the next post!
Once again, thank you for all the kind comments from all of you! In the next few days, I will definitely get back to all of your comments!

Have an awesome night!

Off to My Vacation!

In a day's time, I am off to Los Angeles for my summer vacation! Super excited! I will be there for 10 days which means I won't be seeing all of you until the 28th. I will definitely miss my blog and more importantly I will miss all of you! So today I brought you a longer post than usual with a makeup tutorial and my new set of photo shoot.

Since I will be staying in Los Angeles for 10 days enjoying the extremely sunny weather, I figure by the time I come back I will be extremely tan. I always wonder how I will look like if I have brown skin tone so today I decided to do a makeup tutorial of turning myself into a super tan me. Enjoy!

1. Before doing any makeup, ALWAYS remember to prep your skin by cleansing your face with face wash. Any face wash would do as long as it will get rid of all of your face oil. I am using Lancome Face Wash at the moment.
2. Once your face is ready, apply primer to create a smooth canvas on your face and it will help your makeup to last longer. I use Revlon PhotoReady Primer.
 3. To get a tan look, I mixed Joe's darkest foundation with my Marcelle BB Cream to get this natural brown skin tone. I apply the foundation with Joe's blending sponge. On my first try of this makeup, I only use Joe's foundation and I look like I was burnt so I decided to mix my regular skin tone bb cream with Joe's foundation.

 4. Using a dark brown eyeshadow, shape your eyebrow with a medium angled brush. I used Coastal Scent 88 Eye Shadow Makeup Palette
5. Using a black eyeliner, draw an eyeline from the inner to outer edges of your upper lashline and don't forget to leave a wing tip at the end as this will lift up you upper eyelid and make your eyes look longer. I used NYX retractable eyeliner, this by far the BEST eyeliner I have ever use compare to all the other drugstore brand eyeliners I used before. Highly recommended if you are looking for a good jet black eyeliner!

 6. Using a white eyeliner, apply an eyeline on your lower lash line as this will make you eyes look bigger. I used NYX Slide on White Eyeliner, again this is the best that I tried so far. You have to see my happy dance when I first try it on!!

 7. Using an eye shading brush, apply silver/metallic eye shadow over your eyelid. If you have round eyes like me, apply your eye shadow all the way to the inner eye corner

 8. Apply a dark purple eyeshadow above your eye crease line
 9. To make your eyes look even bigger, apply upper and lower false eyelashes. I used Revlon Precision Lash Adhesive and it works perfectly. Again, highly recommended
To give you a better picture, this is how I painted my eyes
 Excuse my horrible photoshop skills!
Last step: Contouring
Out of all the makeup steps, I think this is by far the most important step as this is what can actually change your face features to whatever way you want. Since this is the most important step of this makeup look, I have drawn it out to show you how I apply my highlight, my blush and my shading.

With a dark brown eyeshadow (as long as it is three shades darker than your own skin tone), start contouring your nose by shading the side of your nose as this will make your nose look straighter and smaller. Also apply bronzer right below your cheek bone and on the side of your forehead as this will give defined cheekbones and hide receding hairline

With a Revlon Rosy Glow Cream Blush, apply it to the apple of your cheek

Lastly highlight all the areas as it appear on my photo. I used a regular concealer (Physicians Formula Mineral Correcting Concealer) as highlight for this makeup look

Tah-Dah this completes my makeup look

My friend said I look like a latin girl, what ethnic do you think I look like?

Today, I brought you a look inspired by the Hippie Era. Hope you like it!

My Very First Features!!!!!

I am thrilled to share with you all my very first features! I have no intention in showing off, but simply wanted to share my joy with my readers along to my friends who read my blog and here they are:

I was featured in Fashion Space, it is a social publishing platforms that allows you to style your own looks and also get inspirations from looks that others created. Awhile ago, I received an invitation from Qin of Qin at the Disco to be one of the style contributors of Fashion Space. Since then, I have started creating outfit looks. Recently, I received an email from Qin telling me that they have featured my look on both their website and facebook page :) Thank you Qin!

By random chances, I was also featured in VancityBuzz, a very famous blog for the Vancouverites to get inside scoop of what's happening in Vancouver. The other day I was heading to meet my boyfriend in downtown, a girl came up to me and introduce herself as one of the photographers from VancityBuzz and would like to take a picture of my outfit of the day. So, here I was randomly featured on their blog. I know I look extremely retarded with my awkward smile on but please bare with me as I was a bit excited mix with a bit nervousness at that time.

Oh and remember how I said I forgot a piece of very important statement bracelet for my neon madness post here, this is the spike bracelet I was going to wear for that look but forgot to wear it! Boo me!

Enough with my features, today I feel like seeing myself in blonde hair so I came up with this blonde look. I always have a thing for blonde hair and blue eyes since I was very little. I even bleached my hair to blonde colour few years back and wear blue contacts everyday. How I love those days! I quit bleaching or dying my hair now since I am losing so much hair and I don't want to see myself turn into a bald woman! I have to say though, one good thing about having little hair like me is my hair grows back super quick!

 What I am wearing:
Plaid shirt - Abercrombie & Fitch (bought it on sale for less than $15!)
Colour block skirt - Forever 21
Necklace - Forever 21
Nude pumps - BCBG
Jacket - Random shop in Taipei

My latest favourite necklace!

I can't thank enough for the kind comments! By the way, my hives are gone! Thank you kindly for the heart warming comments.

Have a fun-filled evening, everyone!

Catwoman

Thank you all for the kind comments from previous post. My friend is now on a plane flying back to Hong Kong. It was not an easy good bye especially for a clingy person as I am but there's nothing I can do except to wish her all the best in Hong Kong.

Recently, I watched Dark Knight Rises in d-box and I absolutely love the movie! I feel like I am watching a 4-D movies as the ones in the Universal Studio except there's no water splashing on your face. To those who have not heard of d-box, d-box is basically seats that goes in motion along with the movie action. The d-box seats totally add intensity to the action along with the bass transducers on the side, it totally take you to a a new level of movie dimension. The look I brought to you today is inspired by the Catwoman from the movie. Sorry for the short post today, I am suffering from hives at the moment! Hope you like my new look, in the meantime, I will scratch my way through it!!!!!

 What I am wearing:

A Friend that Clicks!

"Though miles may lie between us, we're never far apart, for friendship doesn't count the miles, it's measured by the heart."
- Unknown

In less than a week, a very close friend of mine will be moving back to Hong Kong. Time moves like a slow turtle when waiting to get off work but it sure flies like an eagle when someone that I care is about to leave. My close friend and I went to the same high school together but we did not became close friends until I was in my first year of University. I've known her for a couple of years now and now looking back, we shared many unforgettable moments especially the stupid things used to do:
- we can talked about our belly buttons for hours and laugh at how weird we are

- we talked overnight while waiting for Ikea to open its door just because we want to try their breakfast but ended up heading home right before Ikea opens because we got so sleepy

- we drove to Stanley Park just to visit the raccoons although they have all moved to a different location now due to the wind storm

 - we bitched at each other through text messaging rather than verbally

Back then, because both her and I still go to school, we basically can hang out every single day but now that both of us have graduated and she is starting her career in Hong Kong. There will not be time where we can do crazy things as before.

We laugh, we cry, we argue, and we hug. I will definitely treasure all those beautiful memories and as the quote said, it is not the distance that will ruin our friendship, but it is in our heart, for our friendship will last.  I will miss you!

Back to today's look, I brought you guys another punk style look because I love the badness in that style so much! There is one thing that will be different than all my look and that is my close friend did my makeup! This is probably the first time but also the last time she did my makeup before she leaves.

Do we share a very different makeup style or similar?

YO!

Top Ten Favourite Makeups and Top Five Worst Makeup at the Moment!

As mentioned in my previous post, today rather than a new look of me, I would like to share with you my top ten favourite makeup products at the moment. Instead of a detailed  makeup review, I decided to change things a bit by telling you what work and what did not work because I am sure a lot of you have gone through the process of buying a product and it turns out to be completely opposite as what it describes will do. I want to share the following products to you all not in an attempt to sell you anything but instead to warn you from wasting your money to buy the products on my worst makeup list. If you follow my blog, I am sure you have figured out I am a total drugstore girl. It's not that I do not like high end brand name products, just that the cost has always been an issue. So, don't be surprise to see that most of the products shown you can get them directly from a drugstore.

 1. Biore Make-up removing towelettes - if you put on heavy makeup on a regular basis as I do or even on special occasion where you have to put on extra heavy makeup, I strongly recommending using make-up cloth to remove your makeup as you can clean your face with simply one cloth as oppose to 5-6 cotton pads to remove a heavy makeup. In order to maintain your skin, the cleaning process must be done thoroughly. Once you remove all the makeup from your face, despite the package said without rinse, I strongly advice you still washed your face with face wash as that is what really get rids of your oil.

2. Joe Premium Blending Sponge - doesn't this look exactly like the BeautyBlender! Since the original BeautyBlender is a little too pricey for me, so I decided to try Joe blending sponge instead (cost only $8). I have to tell you I absolutely love the shape of the sponge (I think this is also why the BeautyBlender is known for). Because of its shape, I can apply foundation to every corner of my face easily. And to clean it, all you need to do is to soak it in hot soapy water and give it a couple of squeezes. It will restore to its normal look in no time. I've use this sponge many times now and I love it!

3. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream - Love how this bb cream has everything I needed before applying my eye makeup. It is oil free, has SPF 30 and because it is a balm, I don't even have to put on any moisturizer or primer before applying this. It is definitely a one easy step to cover all your blemishes and give your skin a natural glow.

4. Lush Facial Mask - I absolutely LOVE their masks! I have tried their brazened honey and love lettuce mask now on to their oatfix. Each type of mask has a different function to it. The oatfix that I am using now mainly helps moisturize my skin, this is especially good for people with dry/sensitive skin as I do. Another reason why I love their masks so much is because they are all made of NATURAL products with no chemical in them. Unlike other masks, you only have to leave the mask on for 5-10 minutes and you are good to rinse off.

5. Maybelline Baby Lips - So in love with Baby Lips that I bought two of its colour, planning to try out more. I love how it adds a light colour to your lips while moisturizing it and mostly importantly I love its fruity smell. See below for picture.

6. The Body Shop Lily Cole Pearl Radiance Primer - It is very light upon applying on my skin as oppose to other primer that I've used, I always feel a layer on my face but with this Body Shop primer, I can't feel a thing. The primer is also mixed with a little bit of pearl powder that will make your face glow after applying.

7. Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint - this cheek tint absolutely mix better with bb cream than the powder blush and give a more natural look. The powder blush tends to give a cakey look. See below for picture.

8. Rimmel Glam'eyes Day 2 Night Mascara - I've tried many mascaras and I find this works best to keep my eyelashes stay curl and stay on. One thing to be aware of about this mascara is, even though the design of the mascara tube look as it there were two brushes in it, in fact there is one brush in the tube so the design is quite misleading. Other than that, I love this mascara!

9. Lush Charisma Skin Tint - Yes, Lush again! This is actually a bronzer tint and it blends naturally with my skin.

10. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - This is a relatively new balm stain that came out and it works perfectly. I love its colour and how the colour last for the whole day. It's very hard to imagine a balm that last, but this one really works!

This is just a sample I got from Lush. I used this a couple of times now and I am planning to buy their regular size Charisma skin tint for sure.
Sorry, I know my eyes look a little bit scary this way but really want to show you what this mascara can do!

Urban Decay Cheek Tint
Now, on to my top 5 beware makeup list:

 1. Almay Makeup Remover Towelettes - don't use this if you have dry skin! I've been using this for awhile to remove my makeup and soon I realize my skin becomes so dry that it is peeling. I suspected it was this makeup remover cloth so I stop using it and voila my skin is back to normal after a week of not using this makeup cloth. I think the main thing that is causing my skin so dry is the ceteryl alcohol content that was in the cloth. So my suggestion to people with dry skin, try to use products that are alcohol free.

2. Quo Eyelash Glue - this is one of the worst eyelash glue that I've use so far not because it is non-sticking but instead it is sticking way too tight! When I try to remove the false eyelashes, I will always end up with teary eyes as glue is so strong that I have to tear my real eyelashes along with the false lashes. Horrible! Tips on applying false eyelashes: if you are experiencing difficulty applying false eyelashes as I do too before, it is not how you apply that was wrong. It is actually the type of glue that you use will affect whether the lashes will stay on or not. Try Duo Eyelash Glue if you need a recommendation.

3. Physicians Formula Eye Booster - First of all, the eyeliner was not dark enough, see below for the colour. If you are looking for a jet black eyeliner like me, please don't buy this as it looks like gray eyeliner as oppose to black. Secondly, the package said it has serum that will make your eyelashes grow longer, absolutely not true so please don't fall for it as I do.

4. L'oreal True Match Illuminating Concealer - before I try this concealer, I was using Revlon photoready eye primer that has a similar brush as L'oreal. Because there was comparison, I find this L'oreal concealer's brush to be extremely rough and my skin hurts when I apply it to my face.

5. NYC Liquid Eyeliner - I use to love this eyeliner a lot but after it changes to this new design with a totally thicker brush, I hate it. The thicker brush makes it so hard to do a thin eyeline along my eyes.

The one at the back is what I used to love and normally use to draw eyeline with. The one at the front is the new desing tube with thicker brush that I hate.

I don't know about you, but to me, this is a huge difference!
This is darkest that the Physician Formula Eye Booster can go. If you are looking for jet black eyeliner, don't buy this!
This post is taking longer than I expected. Hope this is not too long for you guys to read :) Have a wonderful evening!

As always, thank you for the kind comments!
