I Am Officially Broke!

In less than a day, my brother will be hopping on a flight for his vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You ask why the exclamation, not because I won't be seeing him for 3 weeks really (although part of me do feel a little relief) but because he is bringing his camera with him which also means that I will be out of camera for 3 WHOLE WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!! ARGHhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! For the past few months, I have been relying on my brother's camera to do all my photoshoots and life without a camera is totally unimaginable! The only solution I can come up with is to get my very own camera. Which one you ask? Will show you on my next post ;) With that being said, I am officially broke! 

The only place I can afford to shop in now is the dollar store! Speaking of which, I would like to share with you my wonder finds at Dollarama:

 I found this Elf Total Face Brush at Dollarama selling for only $1.50!!! There are also other brand name makeup such as Maybelline and Revlon. Dollarama is selling their two shades eyeshadow for $1.50 as well!!! If you live in Vancouver, definitely go check it out! Dollarama always have some great deal goodies!

Back to today's look, makeup is supposedly inspired by Twiggy. I am not too happy with this makeup as you can see from the pictures, I look nothing like her. Anyways, here it is:

As I mentioned from last post, my photo studio is ready to go. The backdrop only cost me around $50! Pretty good deal I think! Back to my first look at my photo studio, this look is inspired by Yayoi Kusama, the princess of polka dot. I didn't think of this before, but when I saw the actual pictures, the black polka dots on my face sure look like huge moles! Don't you think :/ Let me know what you think!

My Very First Features!!!!!

I am thrilled to share with you all my very first features! I have no intention in showing off, but simply wanted to share my joy with my readers along to my friends who read my blog and here they are:

I was featured in Fashion Space, it is a social publishing platforms that allows you to style your own looks and also get inspirations from looks that others created. Awhile ago, I received an invitation from Qin of Qin at the Disco to be one of the style contributors of Fashion Space. Since then, I have started creating outfit looks. By random chances, I was also featured in VancityBuzz, a very famous blog for the Vancouverites to get inside scoop of what's happening in Vancouver. The other day I was heading to meet my boyfriend in downtown, a girl came up to me and introduce herself as one of the photographers from VancityBuzz and would like to take a picture of my outfit of the day. So, here I was randomly featured on their blog. I know I look extremely retarded with my awkward smile on but please bare with me as I was a bit excited mix with a bit nervousness at that time.

 Oh and remember how I said I forgot a piece of very important statement bracelet for my neon madness post here, this is the spike bracelet I was going to wear for that look but forgot to wear it! Boo me!

Enough with my features, today I feel like seeing myself in blonde hair so I came up with this blonde look. I always have a thing for blonde hair and blue eyes since I was very little. I even bleached my hair to blonde colour few years back and wear blue contacts everyday. How I love those days! I quit bleaching or dying my hair now since I am losing so much hair and I don't want to see myself turn into a bald woman! I have to say though, one good thing about having little hair like me is my hair grows back super quick!

Catwoman

Thank you all for the kind comments from previous post. My friend is now on a plane flying back to Hong Kong. It was not an easy good bye especially for a clingy person as I am but there's nothing I can do except to wish her all the best in Hong Kong.

Recently, I watched Dark Knight Rises in d-box and I absolutely love the movie! I feel like I am watching a 4-D movies as the ones in the Universal Studio except there's no water splashing on your face. To those who have not heard of d-box, d-box is basically seats that goes in motion along with the movie action. The d-box seats totally add intensity to the action along with the bass transducers on the side, it totally take you to a a new level of movie dimension. The look I brought to you today is inspired by the Catwoman from the movie. Sorry for the short post today, I am suffering from hives at the moment! Hope you like my new look, in the meantime, I will scratch my way through it!!!!!

A Friend that Clicks!

In less than a week, a very close friend of mine will be moving back to Hong Kong. Time moves like a slow turtle when waiting to get off work but it sure flies like an eagle when someone that I care is about to leave. My close friend and I went to the same high school together but we did not became close friends until I was in my first year of University. I've known her for a couple of years now and now looking back, we shared many unforgettable moments especially the stupid things used to do:

- we can talked about our belly buttons for hours and laugh at how weird we are

- we talked overnight while waiting for Ikea to open its door just because we want to try their breakfast but ended up heading home right before Ikea opens because we got so sleepy

- we drove to Stanley Park just to visit the raccoons although they have all moved to a different location now due to the wind storm

 - we bitched at each other through text messaging rather than verbally

Back then, because both her and I still go to school, we basically can hang out every single day but now that both of us have graduated and she is starting her career in Hong Kong. There will not be time where we can do crazy things as before.

We laugh, we cry, we argue, and we hug. I will definitely treasure all those beautiful memories and as the quote said, it is not the distance that will ruin our friendship, but it is in our heart, for our friendship will last.  I will miss you!

Back to today's look, I brought you guys another punk style look because I love the badness in that style so much! There is one thing that will be different than all my look and that is my close friend did my makeup! This is probably the first time but also the last time she did my makeup before she leaves.

Which Animal Escape the Zoo?

Lately my boyfriend and I were planning a trip to Los Angeles and one of the attractions that both of us are super excited to go is the San Diego Zoo Safari Park! I always love to go to the zoo no matter how many times I been there. I've been to a couple of the zoos from different places but not all brought back pleasant experience. There was one particular zoo in China that made my heart broke when I first saw how underweight the animals are. It is one of the biggest zoo in China and it was known for having over 100 tigers consist of many different kinds (some are extremely rare). I went there with my cousin and my brother. My brother was extremely excited when he got there while I, one the other hand, was horrified by the animals that I saw especially the tigers. Most of them are extremely underweight that I can see their bones. My cousin even took us to watch the circus show. Throughout the entire show, everyone seem to enjoy it very much and were very entertained as if no one noticed how poor condition these animals are while I was the only one watching the show with tears. My brother even laughed at me for being the only one who watched the show with a worry look. The condition that the animals were in was so terrible that until this day, I can still vividly remember their lifeless and skinny body. Anyways, back to my trip, I am still looking forward to the Safari Park as I get see the animals in close distance.

Let's Dance!

 Today I brought you a look inspired by the Indian dance. Since I have never been to India or seen the actual Indian dance, this is solely my own imitation of some of the moves (mainly the hand gestures) on television. I am sure I did a very poor job in pretending to look like an Indian dancer but I have lots of fun doing this photoshoot. 

Although I have not been to India, I would like to share with you my older sister's funny experience there. A year ago, my sister had volunteered to help the children in one of the poorest places in India. She acted as their teacher and taught them English everyday. The town that she was in was so undeveloped that there were not any washrooms. In another words,  if someone needs to go, they would have to either find somewhere hidden (if they can find one) or pee in front of the public. My sister is a very conservative person who only wear round neck clothes, she refuse to wear any clothes that show her skin below the neck. For a person as conservative as she is to pee in front of the public was an extremely horrible (to me a funny) experience. In an almost open space, it took my sister a while to find a little bush that can (barely) cover her. She made sure (at least she thought) there was no one around before she go but when she is done and look up, there was a boy standing right in front of her watching her that whole time. Right at that moment, my sister quickly zipped up her pants and ran the opposite direction! She felt embarrassed only for the first time, after a couple of washroom experiences, my sister gave up her conservative mind and just openly show her butt when she needs to go. How a place can change a person!
