Gradient Pants or Do I Look Like I Wet My Pant!?

I have seen many people wearing gradient top/pants but could not find one that I like in Vancouver. So I decided to DIY my own gradient pant by bleaching a grey pant that I no longer wear and see if I can turn it into something that is more trendy. It took me a day to bleach the pant and I realize the lightest colour my pant can go is to a lighter grey colour. At first, I was very proud of the result but when I try it on and look at myself in the mirror, the darker grey part of the pant really make me look like I wet my pant :S So here are my shots of the day. Let me know what you think!
Me happily in my outfit of the day :)

 What I was wearing:
Grey Leather Jacket: Zara
Top: Esprit
Scarf: Random
Grey gradient pant: DIY Gradient Effect
Bag: Zara
Sunglasses: H&M
Earrings: Value Village
Simple is best! Red is best!
Super love the new sunglasses I bought <3

Hope you like my new outfit! And thank you for everyone who left me comments. I love all the commenting and will definitely reply.

Garage is My New Treasure Box

As a Geography student, I was well aware how important it is to recycle and reuse what you have in order to fulfill our parts of responsibility to this mother Earth. In the fashion field, I understand that fashion trend is constantly changing which is what makes shopping so tempting especially to us, ladies! In order to keep up with the trend, I turned into a shopaholic/hoarder for many years until recently I started recycle some of the items I already have. To live life off on a limited savings have really push me to start hunting in my garage. I have always known our garage is packed full of stuff (since I have five siblings including myself) but not once have I thought of reusing the things in the garage. Shame on me! For the few days, I started looking around in my garage to see what I can recycle, surprisingly, I found many used goodies (some are even brand new) that I can upcycle and reuse. The garage has officially become my new treasure box!

So today, I am going to show you guys how to create what I call the DIY glam earrings frame, inspired by http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2009/07/diy_earrings_frame.html

Step 1:

 Items you will need:
1. Frame - it can be any frame that you find in your house (I just happen to find a brand new IKEA frame in my garage, score!)
2. Clothes pin
3. Glue gun
4. Hemp cord (you can get this in Michaels)
5. Acrylic paint + brush
6. decorating bead that's big enough to use as hook (I forgot to include this in the picture)

Remove all the paper except the frame and the back board

And start using your glue gun to glue everything on the frame accordingly. As for the hemp cord, you can tied a knot on each end of the clothes pin to secure it. You can attached as many cords as you can fit in the frame but I find two cords will just be fine with me.

Dah Duh! Brought to you my DIY Glam Earring Frame! Hope you like it!
In case you are wondering, yes these are all the earrings I owned at the moment since I only got my ear pierced half a year ago while I know many of you got your ear pierced since you are little! The reason being is both my parents are very into face reading and to them, any damage to your face including getting an ear pierce can have bad influence to one's fate. And yes, I am dumb enough to listen to them all these years. A dumbass I am.

Side note: I was not able to share my outfit of the day with you as I caught a bad fever today. I will sure do tomorrow :)

Colour Splash!

It's Friday! To many people Friday seem to be an awfully exciting day to them, but to a jobless person like me, the days of the week appears to be meaningless because there's no longer any deadlines pile upon me. When everyday becomes a free day, one tends to lose track of time. On brighter note, I do like one thing about Friday though and that is it's my friends' off day and I get to hang out with them! Yay!

Today, I put on what I call the Colour Splash outfit to match up with this beautiful sunny day! I already can't wait untill the summer arrives!
I think this is call the Cateye makeup. I always love to try on different makeup style because it can create a totally different me. And most importantly, you can be anyone you want! (of course, I am not saying not to be yourself but sometimes if you wanna escape from who you are, make up is the way to go)
I just can't help myself putting up this Hong Kong pose. Excuse me! And yes I know that's a very bizarre looking glasses I had on and some of you may even think I look stupid in them but I got this for a long time, so have to try it on...
My Colour Splash Outfit:
Bow - DIY from scrap fabric
Glasses - got it from HK (cost me around $3CAD)
Denim Jacket - American Eagle
Mint Top - DIY from a tee shirt
skirt - Forever 21
Clutch - H&M (~$20)

Hi It's Me again!

 <3 My bizarre yellow glasses

All Photographs are taken by my best buds Stinky and thanks Dee for helping me with my hair.

Side note: I have always thought coral stands for a series of colour with the same tone, but today my friend just told me coral is only a name for one colour. I always thought the term coral = the corals found in the ocean (which come in many different colours) and didn't realize coral is just a name for that one colour. How silly of me! Guess I just learn a new word today ;)

Coral + Denim + Fringe!

First of all, I would like to give a BIG THANKS to my best buds stinky for creating this beautiful banner and the simple but beautiful blog. I have to say I am totally not website savvy in fact I think I am gear more toward the dummy side. So, aren't I lucky to have a friend like you <3

My outfit for the day is a mix and match of coral + denim + fringe! I basically put on all my recent favourites on me! Denim has always been my long time besties, it just go well with anything. And recently I am especially addicted to anything that's in coral colour or fringe style. Let me know what you think about this look ;)

I matched my outfit with this fringe purse that I got from Forever 21 (I think it was for around $41, not too bad, eh?)
A DIY fringe necklace that I created with a T-shirt collar
Neon yellow heels I got from H&M!
I love the ring on my middle finger and most importantly it only cost me $3 to get it. Cheap and chic!

That's all for this awesome day!

Welcome to The Closet 365!

Who am I?

Hi everyone! My name is Ang Lam. This is the first time that I start my own blog and I am super excited about it! To start off, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I was born in Hong Kong but raised in Vancouver, BC. I have a strong passion in fashion, in fact, I love everything that creates a beauty, who doesn't, right? Unlike those who know what their dream job is when they are very little, I did not find out mine until recently and that is to become a freelance fashion stylist.

My Career Path So Far...

I have passion for fashion since I was young but did not pursuit a career in this field mainly because I was born in an Asian family. When I was little, my parents would always say to me you must get into a University or else you cannot get a decent job. The truth is, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree but still cannot find a job title higher than a receptionist. And another truth is, I did not like office job at all because everything is so repetitive and monotone. Despite that I did not like my job, I stick with it until when my sister became ill. Both my parents are in China, I am the only one who can take care of my sister. So I resigned all the jobs that I was working at that time and become my sister's caregiver. Aside from looking after my sister, I have a whole lot of time to think about my future and that is when I decided to start this blog. And maybe this will lead me to a brand new journey...

What The Closet 365 is All About?

In this blog The Closet 365, I will share with you my daily outfit in different occasion rather it be on a rainy day, a special holiday, etc. as well as some helpful beauty tips that I find out. Oh, and don't worry, unlike this first post, I will keep it short and simple :) Hope you guys will like it. Enjoy!
